"Odeipus Rex" and.....

Today in class we finished our last commercial and discussed some of the slides. We talked about how the theater in Athens held 4 to 5,000 people. They usually produced comedies and tragedies. The comedies were making fun of their gods, or leaders. The tragedies were based on pride. They also told a tragedy of a man by the name of Oedipus that was told he had to marry his own mother and kill his own father. He tried to avoid both by fleeing, and was on his way out of town. His chariot ran into another one and killed the man in the other chariot. The man killed was his father but he didn’t know. Later he started falling in love with an older woman. He didn’t know the older woman was his mother and he eventually married her. He did sleep with her and was disgusted knowing what had happened. He later plunged two swords in his eyes, that way he was blind and didn’t have to see people look at him with disgust.
- They was also a Greek olive oil that people in China even wanted
- The Greeks needed to create a container to put the oil in so they made them
-Though, Greeks made huge containers and decorated them.
